A large (5 story) pink marble building easily identified as the station at the north end of the Grand Canal.
Crowd: Travelers of all types pass through this station as it is the main entrance to Venice. Water buses and water taxis depart from here frequently and all arriving by bus also arrive close by and generally use the station as a staging area. Like St. Marks Square at the other end of the canal this location is often used at a meeting point...i.e. "I'll meet you under the clock at noon".

  • Hours:Open early morning to late evening as trains arrive regularly, both national and local commuter as well as international trains.
    Best times: Late afternoon and early evening seem best, although the morning commute traffic can be interesting if you are close by and can easily check out the crowds.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:The use of common sense rules for cruising apply here as at any other location around the world.
    Cruisiest Spots: The esplanade and especially the washrooms are the main cruising areas.
