i walked in @ steamworks place in the makin formerly friction. well the door was open the guy said maybe arround May they will be open. I find this place more accessibly friendly, can't wait to venture there.......... now about M2M when is a good time to go?

I just read it in xtra. Steamworks coming soon to the old Friction. Finally a well run Bathhouse in Vancouver. If it's like the one in Toronto It will be top of the line and fully operating before it opens.

In terms of the friendliness factor, I was only there once but found the staff as friendly as one would expect them to be. I was in town from the United States on business and the staff made me feel quite welcome. The guy at the reception window greeted me with a "Are you in town visiting?" followed by a nice explanation of the policies and procedures. He gave me an overview of the playspace and encouraged me to have a good time.

Obviously mine is just a one-time experience, but I felt welcomed by the staff and was given nothing in the way of "attitude." Maybe it was because I was a "rube" visiting from small-town Oregon. Who knows?

Actually, it was a toonie I'd left, despite the fact that the place was dead and I got no action. In the big cities I've noticed that bathhouses are much more welcoming and cater to the many guys who show up 3 or 4 times a week for easy, safe, anonymous encounters. Perhaps Steamworks already knows this, and that friendliness is good for business...then maybe it won't be so frustrating to find some fun here.

I don't think this place is that bad, although it has slowed down over the past few years.
But, if Steamworks comes to town, and it's as good as the one in Toronto (I just moved back to Vancouver from there) M2M and even f212 will definitely lose.

Waste of time and money. The place was way too hot (Temp not the crowd) and after being told I was "next in line" for a room, I heard 3 other lockers being called because their room was ready.

I gave up after half and hour and went to f212. Don't bother with this place.

I was there over the week-end for the first time in a year. I like the glory hole booth, but was sad to find that not one has a working lock on it. There really hard to use when people are slamming the doors open all the time. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to fix them properly. Stop buying at dollar stores and bolt them on. I know you are the only game in town rite now, but someday a new one will pop up again, and you will lose customers again because you won't keep your place in good repair. And the couch on the TV room is a disgrace.
