There is no swimming at gay area. There is good swimming at main beach which is very mixed gay and straight. Everyone gets along very well there. There is a gay section on the main beach also located along rock wall breakwater to left if facing water. The main beach has everything you could possibly want to buy from famous BC Bud to chocolate-covered mushrooms to sushi. Gay section on main beach is close to rock breakwater at left end of beach. Trails to cruising area start at main beach. Go left at bottom of stairs and hike for about 1/4 mile. You will start to see guys displaying their wares.
Crowd: All types. You name it.

Who's Coming

All types. You name it.

You can enetr from Pacific spirit park off Marine Drive (just south of 16th) This is easiest way and has parking. At bottom of trail, go left or right, and you will no doubt find action. Parking area up top even has action.
  • Crowd:All types. You name it.
  • Hours:Warm days in spring, summer and fall. Action even happens on not so nice days and early evenings.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Don't wear cologne. Wave your weiner if you are interested.
    Cruisiest Spots: Trails heading away from main beach. Can go up to a mile.
  • Nudity / Policy:Yes / You look weird with clothes on.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Americans with ghetto blasters, men who wear cologne at nude beach, people who don't pick up their garbage.
    Warnings: Cops roaming through.

  • Anyone know where the crusing areas at the bootom of Trail 7 if I turn left instead of my usual right hand turn to the sandy beach. Westend guy leaving westend at about 1030 if interested.

  • The sign at the bottom of trail 6 seems to indicate that the trail from trail 6 through the oasis to trail 7 is closed. Any info on that? thanks guys

  • The gay area of the main beach I believe is to the left by the breakwater. Alternatively at the top you can walk a bit go down trail 7 to the gay area with smaller beaches tot he left or the main gay beach to the right, you gotta walk a fair bit though along the path.

  • I checked out the beach at the bottom of Trail 6 this morning - seems great, and I'm definitely going back when it's warmer (and busier) this afternoon. Just wondering if someone could explain where exactly the gay sections are. At the bottom of the stairs, facing the water, there's a rock wall to the left. But that seems really close to the "main" action. Is there somewhere else I should check out? The signs said the trails to Gate/Trail 7 are closed. Any tips would be appreciated. Cheers boys.

    is there anything that just happens without any pre-planning? which trails? the ones near Marine drive (by the campus) where i was, had nothing going on except for those two above.

    what should i be looking for...yes, i'm new to this...but kinda turned on by this but not sure what the signs are if someone is into me. i'm being serious so any advice will help...and the trails that you recommend.

    oh, and is it rude to watch if i do happen to see others?

    so many questions...i know. finally - anyone wanna meet up?? ; )

  • I've seen them on the main beach, mainly just to have a presence I would suspect.

    Nothing to worry about going there unless you plan on doing or bringing something illegal.
