Crowd: Local men, and guys from all around in cars.
Neighbourhood: Sheppard W, west of Keele
Who's Coming
Local men, and guys from all around in cars.
South off Sheppard Ave. West, between Keele and Jane. Entrance to park at bottom of valley. Cross street: Keele & Sheppard
Crowd:Local men, and guys from all around in cars.
Hours:Signs say the park closes at 10:00 p.m. They may close the gate south of the first big parking lot at that time. Dates open: Gate closed in winter, but parking lot can see some in-car action.
Cruising Info/ Tips:The best area is #3. Cars parked here are likely cruising, though car owners park here if they are using the table(s) on the other side of the road. Guys who go into the woods here are most likely cruising.
On weekends, the park sometimes gets busy with picnics and such. Area #3 is not often used for this, but can be. It's possible to do stuff in different sections of this area if one of the grassy parts is being used for a picnic.
Sometimes cars parked at the back corner of the lot leading to #4 or 5 can indicate people are in the woods. In-car action can occur here when the weather is poor.
In-car action also sometimes happens in the lot by the gate, on winter weekend afternoons, etc.
Busy times are usually weekdays after work, until about 7 p.m. I've been told weekday lunch hours can also be fun. Weekend mornings or early afternoon can be busy, but if there are picnics going on, the guys don't often stop to play. Areas #4 and 5 can still be used when their are too many people everywhere else.
Typically, the leaves grow in enough to hide the action by mid to late May, and start to fall in October. The early darkness in September can make it fun. Signs say the park closes at 10 p.m. in the summer. The gate by the first big parking lot closes in December, I think, and opens some time in the spring. Cruisiest Spots: Directions to areas as marked on the aerial shot:
br
br
1. First parking area for is for the day care and one barbecue/table. Paths go into woods straight west to the creek. A few private spots there. This area is not used much, but sometimes when the other areas are busy or when the park gate is closed.
br
br
2. Past the big parking area on the left, past the gate that is closed at night or in winter, is a parking area along the right. There sometimes is stuff happening in the woods at the end of the parking, but it isn't as private as other spaces.
br
br
3. Across the bridge over the creek, there are two parking areas along right side of road separated by a big tree. From the grassy area closest to the bridge are paths going into the woods, one back along the creek, one up a steep hill to a sometimes-used private space, and one parallel to the road. This one goes through or past some private areas, including one spot behind a big tree. Then it comes out into a clearing with a former barbecue stand. The clearing sort of divides the woods in two. More paths go farther into the woods from here, still running parallel to the road. These merge together and this eventually exits near the road. There are more private areas here, with a pretty good spot behind a big tree.

4. A driveway to a parking lot swings off to the left and in front of the washroom building. At the back end of the parking lot a paved foot path starts, which goes across the foot bridge. Straight ahead a dirt path goes into the woods. There are a few private spots in this area, behind trees and bushes.

5. Farther along the paved path, up the hill, there is a clearing on the left. Across this field is a path through the grass and bushes, which swings along the edge of the woods, then back to the paved path. There are a few entrances into the woods on the left, with some private spots inside the woods here.
Wheelchair Accessible:No
Warnings:Guys that don't take the hint that you don't want them to hang around and watch. Warnings: People do use the park for regular reasons, so always be watchful. Police travel on bike or in cars, but rarely leave the road. Probably best to leave when darkness falls.
May 11th, and the season has started! Bushes are not quite fully grown in yet, but that didn't stop the 6+ guys cruising through the woods late morning, early afternoon. One was a favourite of mine, Italian, hot, hot man. The others were some of the regulars, some brave enough to come forward and play, others hanging back and preventing us from playing in case they were possibly there for other reasons. I had a good time with the hot guy, after the rest had left us alone. Looking forward to more fun there, before the mosquitoes hatch.

This park isn't "Parc Downsview Park", but farther west on Sheppard. If you have a cruisy spot on PDP, why not post a new site on here, giving all the location details? --Tallfuzz
