  • Hours:Sunny weekend days. Beautiful sunsets. Busy days have the best ratio of cuties to trolls. Water is generally too cold for swimming, but on a hot summer day, it provides a refreshing respite. Our best summer spot in metro Seattle.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Spread out a beach blanket. Take your time. The bushes decribed above have some interesting trails...
Cruisiest Spots: Anywhere. There is some alder tree groves and shrubbery at either end of the 3/4 mile long beach.
  • Nudity / Policy:Yes / Nudity is "unofficially" tolerated, even encouraged.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Trolls and all the issues that come with them. Why waste time discussing this further? You know who you are.
Warnings: Ah, there is darkness in summertime paradise. This spring of '04, a young lady was killed by a freight train at Golden Gardens. And so the railroad police, who have kept a low profile in the past few years, are back and more agressive than ever. Per state law, all saltwater beaches between mean tidelines are public property. Access across the railroad tracks is prohibited. A deliema. One option from the southern approach is to walk around Pt Wells on the low tide. A tricky return. Wait for the next ebb or chance the tracks. Use the siding track along the tanker farm fence as it's not active most of the time. From the north, park at Edmonds Beach Park and walk south for 1.1 miles. There is a good trail paralleling the single track on the inland side. My guess is that this is still "tresspassing". Use caution. Look and listen for trains. The tracks will "sing" a high-pitched warning when trains are 1/2 mile or more away. The deep rumblings also provide warning, but the faster moving passesnger trains, Amtrak, Sounder et al, require a keener ear. Be careful.
