This statue of Christ may not be as holy as intended. On one side the monument there are trees, horses and coconut sellers. Get up to the monument and look down the other and not only will you see a drop down to the ocean, but also the faces and bodies of many attractive and willing guys up for anything amongst the sun, sea and large rocks.
Neighbourhood: Barra

- Hours:Any time during the day, though 12:00hrs - 16:00hrs tends to be the sunny 'everyone is out' time.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:The true cruise takes place on the side of the monument. You'll notice the statue of Jesus is facing the Farol da Barra. This said, the main spot in ON THE LEFT OF THE STATUE.
There are plenty of hidden paths amongst shrubs, the side of the hill also means one can't see what is happening below - good for outdoor sucking. There are also many rocks used for covers. Don't worry, the worst you'll have is a hot Brazilian's and a splash of warm sea water all over your face.
- Nudity / Policy:Nudity is not allowed but the rocks, shrubs and general landscape will provide cover.
However, being a beach, just come down with nothing more than your swim wear and you're fine. Don't worry - in Salvador, you will NOT be cold.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / You'll need to climb down the side of the hill. There are rough paths laid out, but you'll feel like a mountain goat when you first walk them.
- Warnings:Bellow the monuent, next to the main road, the police use the spot as a resting place for their horses during the main sunshine hours. Don't worry, this is not so bad. Their presence does scare most trouble makers and they do not come over the hill to the cruising ground, so don't worry too much about it.
You may get the odd voyeur who will circle you and your guy. At times there are also fishermen around, but they know what happens there and ignore completely.

Was there in August 2009 several times, always found nice guys. Windy location, not dangerous on afternoons. Best between 5 pm and 7 pm.
