Chilako (Mud) River

Travel west from Prince George through Beaverly on hwy #16 west, until you reach the Mud River Valley. At the bottom of Mud River Hill, turn right onto Upper Mud River Road and head north until you can see the one lane bridge. Turn left off the road and slowly go through the ditch. It's worse than it looks and is actually alright if you keep to the right both going in and out. Once you are through the ditch it's fine and only a short distance to an open area where you can park. The swimming is fine right here, but the nudity (action) happens up stream. See cruisiest spot for directions along the river. Once spring run off is over, it is totally safe to walk in the water. Also, the main current follows the opposite bank. If you are arriving on hwy #16 from the west you travel across the valley and then turn left just before going up the hill. The rest of the directions are then the same as what apply above.

• Cruising Info/ Tips:Since you will be walking in water leave electronic gear in your trunk out of sight. You neither want it stolen or wrecked if you slip and fall in the water.
  Cruisiest Spots: East side of river around the bend from the bridge. To get to the nude beach area head south along the east bank (up stream) from the parking area and beach by the bridge. There initially is a path but you will have to walk in the water at times. Keep going until you are around the next bend and totally out of sight of the bridge. Strip down.. go for a swim or lay in the sun and see who else is around.
