Steam Bath. Update: 'It's on the road between Pohoa and Kalapana. There is a turn-off for sight viewing; walk down the paths to the largest 'cone' on the left. There isa path up the backside of the cone. Take a towel as there is a bench to sit inside the cone.'

Was here on vacation in January. Its a very beautiful place to relax. Met a couple of local guys and they showed me the ropes. Just watch for the tourists passing through.

Was there today at noon. No one else around. I certainly has the potential for a connection. The trails are all very narrow once you get away from the highway.

I live near the steam vents. Usually a great spot plenty of locals but they can be jittery. It is a tourist location so you can encounter families and nature folks not there for cruising. The large enclosed vent has benches. If guys are there, they will usually play.

It's a hit or miss thing. There are 3 or more major vents, down the hillside by tiny paths carved thru orchid stalks. Locals & tourists. Wait to be invited to "hang out"-- don't just assume you're welcome. Bring a towel --all the guys strip nude before entering the vents. Both the vents and the guys tend to be hot. Since the vents are inside lava cones/caves, access requires some climbing on slippery and SHARP lava rocks. Look for pickup trucks parked by side of road 3.5 miles south of Pahoa.
