It is an old residential neighborhood behind the gas station. It used to flood very badly so the state bought all the land and razed the homes. all the foundations are there as are the streets, and some front stoops. It has been a while since I was there. Lots of good nooks and crannies for sucking and . No one goes into the foundations they usually just walk along the old streets.
Crowd: College guys, married guys, hikers, trail walkers.

cruiser adds: This is the Quinnipiac River State Park area. You can get there without getting on the Wilbur Cross by taking Upper State St. north and turning onto Banton St. (says Dead End). Follow to the end and you'll see the barracades and St Park sign. You can either park here, or get on the parkway and park at the rest stop OR you can go a little further north up the parkway and park in on the grassy area. Cars park there up against the woods all time for fishing and hunting. Or maybe they're not.;-) This area also houses the Quinnipiac trail which is frequented by people who don't go there for fooling around. Pretty dead most of the time, but beware of hikers and stay well hidden. This is a really nice spot.
Cross street: Upper State St
