South pavement is wider than North but both hot cruisy. Observations on my regular visits:
Late night dog walkers with hook-up agenda; 43rd St. residential night owls greeting passersby; scantilly clad residents (sans underwear) going to and from apartment (in the height of winter!); after party crowd looking for more.
Crowd: 43rd St. hotties, college and gym types, Port Authority working boys, suits, bar-closing curious guys, bridge and tunnel wonderers, straight guys looking for quickies.

Cross street: 9th Avenue - Hours:4AM thru 7AM. Especially hot and cruisy with near guaranteed hook-ups Fri/Sat/Sun.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:Casual strolling up and down both sidewalks, eye contact, smile, suggestive nods and/or greetings. Pause and turn toward your interest. Discrete self crotch brushing.
Cruisiest Spots: Both sidewalks on 43rd between 9th and 10th see most of the action. - Nudity / Policy:Discreet mutual grope and show but best chance of getting naked is to win an invitation to a resident's nearby apartment.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No
- Warnings:Often, guys wait for the other guy to make the first move--this results in missed opportunities, fellas. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again!
Warnings: This area seems to be cruisy throught the day, however, remember it is a residental and commercial area so discretion is advised (duh).
South side pavement has a small park which closes at midnight. Security patrols this area. They are usually hands-off.
