This a very cruisy gym in the French Quarter on N. Rampart St. There is literally action in the sauna/steamroom/shower area all day long. Lots of hot guys, some old trolls hang around early in the day. The showers are separated, but you can easily look under and see if the person in the next is . There's a glass ceiling in the shower room, so you can look up to see the reflection of the person in the next . Most of the action happens in the sauna and steamroom. Almost all the guys who sauna/steam are gay-friendly, and most of them are looking.
Crowd: It's a gym, so people are picky and self-absorbed. It is mostly tops looking to get blown, but there are definitely some . If you are very overweight or old, you will probably get your feelings hurt. If you're young or marginally attractive, you won't have a problem.

This place is very easy to access, as it's on the outskirt of the French Quarter. You can park along N. Rampart, or gym members have access to 3 parking lots next to the gym.

  • Hours:The club closes at 9, around 8:30 or so, everyone who is still in there is looking to get off. If you are trying to play with someone, at 9 you pretty much have the place to yourself for a good 20 maybe 30 minutes before the club is totally shut down.
    Best times: The best time to hook up is between 5:30 am (when they open) some guys go straight for the sauna/steamroom to get off before they work out, with very little traffic for a good hour. The area stays busy until about 10 am. There is very little action between 10 am and 2 pm. After 2 pm, the after work crowd starts to come in.This is a younger crowd, and it gets very busy. Lots of cruising, but very little privacy to do anything. It stays very busy until around 8 pm. The best times to go is probably after 8, when the crowd dies down.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:In the sauna/steamroom, it's towels only, although some guys get totally naked in there. It's fairly obvious if someone is into you w/ eye contact, groping, and/or showing boners. Don't be too aggressive. If someone isn't into you, take the hint. Don't assume all the guys in there are gay. For every 5 gays guys, there's one straight guy.
    Cruisiest Spots: Sauna, showers.
  • Nudity / Policy:Yes / Wear a towel until the coast is clear.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:It can get very busy, and just when you're about to get off with someone, someone else can come in and interrupt.

  • guys this is a legit work out facility. NEW ORLEANS POLICE OFFICERS WORK OUT HERE!! this is not a place to look for action. a friend who bartends in the quarter says NO PLAY!! you will be arrested. there is zero tolerance for lewd behavior. i suggest the club new orleans or flex.

  • Thanks for the insight. The last thing I need or want is to get arrested. On the other hand I would like a good place to workout and if I meet someone willing to come back to my hotel with me, that's a whole other story.

  • I haven't been there in several years, but I know that thery offer free trial passes. I think they are for 3 free visits. I am pretty sure that there is also a non-member cost to get in, but not sure how much that is. I would guess between $10 and $15 per visit.

  • THis is a great informational post, but it doesn't answer a very important question. Who can get in? Members only? Do they offer guest passes? What's the cost? And...why hasn't there been any posts in a year? Is this a hot spot or not? It sounds like my kind of place but as a tourist/visitor will I be able to get in and get off?

  • Hey guys The NOAC is definitely NOT the place to take any chances. Management is gay friendly but completely intolerant of any indecent behavior. Many policemen work out at the NOAC and there have been arrests in the past 3 months. NOAC management will see to it that the book is thrown at anyone arrested. Otherewise, the NOAC is absolutely the best facility in the city for legitimate workouts.
