I haven't been to Planet X since they moved to this new location. The upstairs area must have recently opened, as last I heard the upstairs area was closed.
It sounds similar to the previous location that used to be just up the road. You select a video and pay a rental fee for the right to go into an assigned booth and view it. There were VCRs and DVD players in the room, and you were given the tape and a remote control for viewing. It was hard to discretely hook up with other guys at the old place as the viewing booths were in an area next to the counter and pretty much in view of the clerk and other patrons in the store. Now that it is in a separate area upstairs, it might be easier to share a booth with another guy. Haven't heard any reports from others that checked it out yet. Perhaps we'll get some reports soon now that the area is open.

in that case how's planet x? i stopped by and the guy behind the counter said that you rent a video for $7, take it upstairs, and enjoy. i didn't go up there to check it out, though. anyone been there and if so, what's it like? any action? etc.

This place was located next to the Planet X on Paris Road. It was destroyed in the Hurricane and has not been rebuilt. It is the shell of a building next door to Planet X.
The only Mr. Binky's that I'm aware of currently being open is the one in Harahan.

It is too well lit... Also, all of the booths are located in one straight hallway... This allows someone to see everything that's happening in the hallway in term of who's entering which booths and with whom... Every time I visited there was a guy or two just standing against the wall watching... to me, this can be creepy at best and intimidating at worst... It also makes it hard for guys to be discreet in teaming up in booths...
