This place is so hot! If you're looking for something a little different than pretty boys in towels, this is the place. The St. Marc attracts a lot of guys into leather and raunch. It's VERY hot. The last time I went I got pissed on by a studly daddy who then me with HUGE . Oh, my!
Crowd: An off crowd -- leather, SM, fetish guys. Some major hotties into kink.

I got there on a Sat at 4pm and Sauna Oasis was packed and no rooms available. So I went to GI-Joe thinking that it would be busy: the place was dead and has been for months.
Is it because of the price?

The place is called GI Joe. It hasn't been St Marc for ages. This listing is just wrong.

This place should be called GI JOKE. I was visitng from Toronto paid got a locker, they sent me up to the 2nd floor at the back. After I got changed I walked around I realized I was the only one there. I got dressed and told them I was going to get somthing to eat and come back and maybe more people might have come. They said NO, I said maybe there is no one here because your customer service sucks. The guy just shrugged his shoulders, then I said oh you know your service sucks and he just shrugged again. Terrible, I went down the street to Oasis it was nice and busy and the guy upgraded me from a locker to a room.

Kyle39, that is a very sad statement. People on welfare are not of a lower quality. As gay people we should be the last ones to discriminate on the basis of socio-economic status.

Problem is there too many sauna in Mtl. War prices is not good businnes cause you attract cheap people. Homeless, welfare etc. Quality is better than quantity.

I was visiting Montreal this weekend. Went to this place. I had a good time. I have been to this place on my previous visit. But this place is nothing like it use to be. The increased rates has defnately brought the business down significantly. On my past visits it would be packed and rocking on weekends. This time there were guys there, but nothing like what it use to be. One of the staff members told me that the rates will probably not come down because the owner is making good money with the higher rates and there is less wear and tear on the premises.

They didn't reno the basement...it used to be a separate bathhouse called Millennium...all GI Joe did was buy the place and make a door between the two areas. LOL

I visit Montreal sometimes and always go to GI Joe on weekends. There's a lot to recommend it, nice raunchy masculine atmosphere, staff seem friendly enough, but I'm confused about the place. I rarely see anybody on the main floor or in that huge basement. Do they EVER rent basement rooms or is the place never busy enough? Does anyone ever use the main floor playroom or main floor glory hole?
I always just ask for "a room" on the top floor and it's a crapshoot whether I get a TV or not (not that I care but it's weird). Sometimes I get a room with no hooks to hang coat etc., kinda annoying. I agree w/others here, it wouldn't take much to upgrade the upper floors - a mirror & hooks in every room, replace grotty ceiling panels in some rooms. At a bit more cost they could put cheap flatscreens in the rooms that don't now have TV.
I get the feeling the basement reno cost a fortune & they're still trying to pay for it. From comments here it seems the high rates are keeping the traffic low. The place can be super hot but everytime I visit it's less busy. You Montreal guys who don't go there anymore, where are you going now?

The price doesn't bother me other than the fact that because of the price, this place is not as busy, not even on weekend nights. The last time I was there on a weekend it was not busy at all. Looking for another place.
What I would like to see is LES LIGHT in the sling area (3rd floor). It would be so much fun to see more action in the open area sling. Maybe create bit more privacy (add a partition/curtains) and lower the lights!
There is another sling on the first floor and that bcan be used for guys who want more light. That area should only have Black Light and that would make it the hottest area of the sauna.

It is EXPENSIVE - $17.50 for a locker on a Fri night which can now be a miss. I'm pretty easy..which says alot...
It is badly laid out
Dimmer switches in rooms don't work properly
The showers on the second floor are vile.
Barebulb lighting and poor signage throughout.
The place is adhoc at best.
The place needs some cheap cosmetic updates on a regular basis and a price adjustment.
The staff are fine.

How come people are so cheap! They want great time for nothing!
Don't forget you're not in To. If they charge less, they will attract homeless, welfare etc. Quality is better than quantity!

Well, I did go to this sauna during my visit to Montreal a couple of weeks ago. I had a great time. Though I must mention that the increased prices has effected their business. It wasn't as busy as it use to be during my previous visits.
I hope that the owners reconsider the increased rates. The 24hr room rates are gone and the 12hr rates have been DOUBLED!

I've had some fantastic times at this sauna when I've visited Montreal before.
Wondering if the price hike has made a difference to the business here because the other saunas in the neighbourhood are cheaper. I will be in Montreal in the next couple of weeks. Would appreciate if someone who's been there recently can tell me if it is still is busy as it use to be.
Thanks.
