Cleopatra Cafe

The kind of place that gives a red light district charm and reputation, Cleo’s has been a Montreal institution since 1975. The Stars of Drag Some of the greatest drag shows in Montreal go down inside the plush and glitzy Cleopatra Cafe. The space was renovated in 1999, giving the art of cross-dressing a modernized environment within which to stretch its wings. On the swooping golden stage, in the dark and smoky room, singing in brilliant costumes beneath the bright lights, these famous ladies put on a diverse and moving show. Notorious and Historical You’ll find this pocket of fun in Montreal's notorious and historical red light district on St-Laurent. Walk down the slope away from the designer boutiques and bistros, toward the brighter lights and darker corners of St-Laurent and St-Catherine. Cleopatra Cafe sits on St-Laurent between St-Catherine and René-Levesque where, for decades, strip clubs have seen fit to congregate. Different Floors Different Shows Cafe Cleopatra has a distinctive vintage ‘70s sign that's been its calling card from the beginning, so you won't have difficulty finding this place. At Cleopatra’s the upstairs is where the drag show happens, downstairs is the more traditional stripping with women. This club has been a Montreal fixture and has its fair share of fans.
