It's right off the highway on 66. You will see a blue sign that says Mattabesett Trail, and a parking lot before the trail starts.
Crowd: Mostly straight people going there to have but you do have the occasional hikers rolling through also. But you can tell when guys are cruising.

Go SOUTH on THOMAS ST toward BUTTERNUT ST. Turn RIGHT onto BUTTERNUT ST. Turn RIGHT onto WEST ST. Turn LEFT onto WASHINGTON ST / CT-66. Continue to follow CT-66 W. Merge onto I-91 N via EXIT 11 toward HARTFORD.
  • Crowd:Mostly straight people going there to have but you do have the occasional hikers rolling through also. But you can tell when guys are cruising.
  • Hours:The best time is during the day between the hours of 10am until 6pm.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:When you park your car maybe have a gay sticker on your car. It will help guys to know you're cruising.
    Cruisiest Spots: The higher you go up the trail you can get a better view of who's around and privacy.
  • Nudity / Policy:I would'nt get totally nude there just wear something easy access.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:Parking sucks, only enough space for about ten cars.
    Warnings: Do not cruise Hikers. No cops are around, so lets keep it that way.

  • This is NOT a cruising area. Plenty of hikers, DEP and water company people, etc. A variety of volunteer groups maintain the trail and would definitely flag it to the cops if they ever saw any activity - but I doubt they ever have. I've hiked this trail for years, and have NEVER seen any type of cruising activity. This is a bad/bogus post.
