North Beach
North Washington Street
No-Legal nude beach area, frequented by hetrosexual and gays as well. Not widely known at this point. Many folks have used this area for years and have kept it under wraps due to the conservative nature of Manistee, the town is finally growing up.
Neighbourhood: North Side
In Manistee, MI, go north on Washington Street to the end. Walk the asphalt path to the boardwalk and then the boardwalk to the stairs to the beach. At the beach turn right (north) and walk about 10 minutes. You will now be in the bluffs/dunes area where it is fairly secure and you can see in both directions.
- Hours:Anytime the weather is nice, morning is best, but anytime is ok.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:This will indicate that you are receptive to visitors, otherwise no one will see you. It is also a good place just to get naked with others, with or not
- Nudity / Policy:This is NOT a legal nude beach, but has become one by virtue of its use. Nudity and are by choice only on this beach.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / this area is not accessible by wheelchair as it is a sandy beach down several flights of stairs, I have however seen people manage to get down with wheeled walkers and enjoy walking along the wet area of sand near the water
- Warnings:Since this area is protected by fairly high bluffs and expansive shorline with no homes or buildings, it is fairly secure. Normal precautions would be to put something on if someone passes by that might be able to see you. There are very few people, even in the height of summer using this area.
