Ruinas de la Catedral
This area was destroyed in the earthquake that eventually led to the downfall of Somoza and the rise of the Sandinistas. It was discovered that several faults lie directly under the area so there are no plans to rebuild. Still it's a pleasant enough park and if cruising is slow, check out the ruins. If you meet someone, check them out thoroughly before going anywhere with them.

- Warnings:A few Sandinistas still have some anti-American feelings, but it's rare to encounter them before dark.
Warnings: Poverty is rampant in Nicaragua and muggings and robberies are always a possibility. Stay alert and have an avenue of escape in mind.
