Williamson Park is situated on the site of a former quarry and open moorland to the east of Lancaster. During the 1990s the acquisition of the area known as Fenham Carr has brought the area of the park up to 54 acres.
Neighbourhood: Moorlands
Williamson Park is situated in a commanding position overlooking Lancaster City Centre. It is approximately 5 minutes from junction 34 of the M6 motoway. After leaving the M6 follow signs for Lancaster city centre and brown signs (showing a butterfly) to Williamson Park. There is a car park on Wyresdale Road and disabled spaces are availble via the Quernemore Road entrance.
It is possible to walk to the Park from Lancaster Rail Station (approx 30mins) or Lancaster Bus Station (approx 25 mins), there are taxi ranks at both locations. The walk is uphill but gives you the opportunity to see some of Lancaster's fine buildings. From Dalton Square at the front of the Town Hall, you will pass Lancaster Cathedral and, on the hill, Lancaster Royal Grammar School.

- Hours:The park is open throughout the year except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year?s Day. 10am - 5pm April to September, 10am - 4pm October - March. Public toilets seem to be open thro the day but are due to shut 9p/m every evening
- Cruising Info/ Tips:traditionally the toilets on Wyresdale Rd car park, but there are cameras here. Might be best to meet here or at the entrance to the woodland walk itself at the back of the Ashton Memorial (clearly visible from M6 (J34)
Also shelters in park area itself. Don't be too obvious - it's a public park and therefore has patrols. that's why am suggesting area away from toilets.
- Nudity / Policy:No - try for woodland walk, or toilets in cafe and memorial
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / Disabled toilets in cafe, memorial and wyresdale Rd car park
- Warnings:Yes, this is a public park, and is patrolled (don't know how frequently) Try walking a dog, wearing running gear + look purposeful! Could be good though - it's a new one, and will need trying/re-establishing.
