The hike to the "pools" is about 1/4 mile with a 1000ft decent to the river from the parking lot. Wear good shoes and plan on a long trip back up the hill. There are three extremely well made and maintained pools, plus a small "miner's tub" just above the pools. Great views, warm water and very friendly folks.

After leaving the canyon from Bakersfield, take Kern Canyon Rd for 8.5 miles/be on left.
