The woods are well-traveled and have many trails. It's best to find a secluded place well off the traveled path.

(You have to be logged in) Add CommentI found a great spot in the Houghton Lake Higgins lake area. Going north on 127 get off at the first Higgins Lake exit, turn right and right there on the left is a dark park and ride. There are woods so in the summer would be great.
I stopped there on 2 15 09 around 7pm there were a couple empty cars and one guy sitting in his car. Needless to say we hooked up and I will be back. Don't know if it's a hot spot or I just got lucky but I will check it out again. See you there!!

If you stay on M-55 for another mile west of the Reedsburg turnoff you'll see a road side state campground,(NO guards) you'll have a better chance to meet someone there. Lots of trails and dirt roads in the area. VERY safe.
Noon thru the afternoon is best

I have been at this location on three weekdays, from 1:00 PM to around 3:00 pm. I have never seen ANY activity other than picnickers and fishermen! Does anyone still go here?

It is west of Houghton Lake and US 27. And it is a State Forest, not a park. Follow signs for picnic area.
