A square public park, about 80-90 yards on each side. Daytime is not so good, since the park is popular with the general public. Some people try the small men's room. At night it's mostly dark, except for a few arc lighting around the center of the park. Some banyan trees in the center park area have spots for quickies at night, though is not really advised.
Crowd: More of a local crowd. Late teens to twenties with a few older guys every so often.

Public park with fountains and mature banyan trees across the Blaisdel Center, on King Street. Diagonally from McKinley High School and TGIF restaurant.

  • Hours:Off and on during daylight, but much activity during the night.
    Best times: Nights until 2 am, although the weekends, including Fridays, is prime time.

  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Casual conversation is best because, although everyone there is cruising, some are pretty nervous.
    Cruisiest Spots: Behind the public restrooms, out of the glare of passing cars. Some sit on the benches around the fountain. Some also sit on the stonewall across the street from the restrooms or further along the ajacent street (Young St).
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:No personnel, except for groundskeepers during the day.
    Warnings: Once in a while cops will drive through with a handheld spotlight. Usually happens when the state legislature is in session or before elections. If this occurs, just slowly walk to the street and they'll leave in about 10 minutes. They hardly return, although the station is just down the road, about 200 yards away.

  • since the park was closed by the city from 10p-5a , you cannot even walk thru the park, unless you want to be arrested, I was just cutting thru the park tonite on the way home and it was after 10p and the police stopped me saying that he could either ticket are arrest me, and all I was doing was walking thru the park from king st to beretania st, so watch out if you are in the park after 10p
