A HUGE space. Upstairs and down. They've certainly made changes in the years since they burnt down.


The whole place is painted black, and it's dark.
The s are a bit too low and too small for comfort. The doors to the upstairs s have to go, they're too big and rather dangerous.
I had a good time, but not a great time. It didn't start to get busy until waaaay too late, and even then...The membership for the first visit is very steep at $25.00 and they don't let you in for that...getting in is an additional $10.00 every time you go.
Crowd: Quite a diverse crowd, mostly under 40, most under 35.
YesThe Zone is a lively and popular gay bar found on St James's Street. Inside you will find a friendly atmosphere in which you can enjoy wines, beers and shooters and every weekend you can catch live entertainment including regular drag shows

  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Not as much attitude as Hollywood Spa, but not quite as friendly as Basic Plumbing...use your best judgement.
    Cruisiest Spots: The long dark hallway upstairs, but it's not quite wide enough.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:Yes
  • Warnings:A bit too dark in places, glory holes aren't big enough, waaay to expensive for the crowd.

  • Under new ownership as of July 25, 2008 and the name has been changed to "Jack". The new owners have lowered prices considerably so maybe it will soon be back to its former glory. The previous owners had raised prices to a point that business had almost died off.

  • why does the moderator make refernce to Basic Plumbing?? It closed at least 5 years ago (if not more). Too bad about that, it was fun. Zone, it was fun too (10 years ago). The current version never seems to get very busy, so if you go there and get cruised by a hot guy, you better go for it coz' there wont be more than one or two there. Still draws some of the hollywood tweaker crowd, that was always the case at Zone. Most ppl doing laps around the place like sharks, best bet is to get in & out quick.
