Xanadu-East is formerly the Treasure Box. The entire building has been remodeled from front to back. All of the video booths in the back are very roomy! The front area is well lit, the back (video arcade) is neat, and the parking lot is no longer a haven for crackheads. The staff is very nice, and they leave the cruisers alone. They no longer use coin tokens, they now use paper "coupons" to view movies in the arcade. The last few times I have been, there were quite a few guys there, most of them hot, but a few trolls too. But what bookstore doesn't have a few trolls? Right? My advice? If you haven't been here before, or it's been a long time since you've been to The Treasure Box, then give it a try. So far, I haven't been disappointed!
Crowd: Lots of guys, younger, middle age, and older. Lately, it's been a younger crowd, 18 to 30.

Come off Wendover Ave, or if coming off US29, then take the West Bessemer Ave exit, take a right, and it's in the intersection, at the stop light (on the corner).
Cross street: Westside Drive
  • Crowd:Lots of guys, younger, middle age, and older. Lately, it's been a younger crowd, 18 to 30.
  • Hours:Hours vary. Usually closes at midnight.
    Best times: Around lunchtime, late afternoons, and evenings after 7:00pm.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Just be cool and look for dudes that may be cruising you. The new booths are large enough to have some fun in!
    Cruisiest Spots: The video arcade in the back of the store, and after dark, lots of guys cruise the parking lot in their vehicles. But beware of cruisers in the parking lot (see WARNINGS).
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Ramp accessible.
  • Warnings:The fact that they now use paper "coupons" instead of the old fashioned coin (or metal) tokens. This seems silly, but I suppose it is new technology. Other than that, I have no complaints!
    Warnings: NEVER TALK TO GUYS IN THE PARKING LOT! The Greensboro Police sometimes conduct stings at all of the adult establishments, and that includes the bookstores. Be careful if you're approached in the parking lot by anyone looking for .

  • Hadn't been there in a long time, but went yesterday. LOVED the new booths, which are bigger.more accomodating, and video has been seriously upgraded. Lots of good movie choices for an open minded bi guy like me

  • Very disappointing. The smell is horrendous and I left smelling like an ashtray. Hint smokers - nobody wants this. yes, you have the right to smoke and more power to you. When you do it leaning against the wall in an enclosed space, your smoke is running people off. Then again, there wasn't much hotness to this place anyway. Although I drive past it regularly, I will not be stopping again until there are major changes. Compared to what else is available in other parts of the state/country, this is a big thumbs down.

  • They have recently remodeled the booth area - I think there are fewer booths however they are all very large. There are no glory holes but there are 3 buddy booths (separated by window). They do a good job of keeping this place clean. There is no ventilation system in the booth area, and smoking is allowed. As a result, the smell of cigarette smoke is very strong, and will remain on your clothes/hair when you leave.

  • Went there at lunch yesterday for the first time in quite a while and the new arcade area is AWESOME! The booths are MUCH bigger and the set up is fantastic. If you have not been in a while, I would strongly suggest it!

  • Cruisers be cautious a black man with sunglasses has been coming to back harassing and making comments to cruisers in back...be aware and avoid this person blk male,around 40,thin,always has on sunglasses or has them on top of his head...looks like a gay basher and he will approach and start situation.....just be cautious have normally seen him early afternoons...be safe..not sure if he visits other Greensboro video arcades or not
