This is a simple gravel lot, off to the right side of Weverton Rd. It is a parking area for the Appalachin Trail.

Neighbourhood: Knoxville/Sharpsburg Area

If you are coming down 340 W ( From Frederick Area towards Virginia / West Virginia ) Take the exit for route 67, Boonsboro. As you come off of the ramp, stay in the right lane, and turn right onto Weverton Rd....the first road you come to. Follow it back no more than 1/4 - 1/2 mile and you will see the parking area on the right side. As you pull into the lot, facing the woods, the Appalachin Trail will be on the left end of this lot. You can walk back the trail and find plenty of spots to "Duck off" the trail and have some fun. There is also a stream on the right side of the trail as you walk back, altho it is a bit of work to get too. It is off the trail and down a very big hill, with no trail leading to it. If you venture down to the stream, I always do, right at the bend in the stream is a really deep spot. Great for swimming and skinny dipping! Also, if you are parked in the lot, facing the woods, there is another "Trail" that goes off into the woods on the right side of the lot. Its not the Appalachin Trail, and really doesnt go anywhere, that I know of.....except for into the woods to some fairly private spots!
  • Hours:Not sure if there is a best time...... Almost everytime I've gone, there is at least one car sitting their with the driver in it. Its usually a guy looking for a hook up! If there are empty cars parked there, it is most likely Hikers on the trail.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:I usually park the car, get out, and look to the other parked cars with people in them. You can usually tell......I'll tug on my thru my shorts a bit, and if the guy is there cruising, he will get out and follow you into the woods.
  • Nudity / Policy:Im sure nudity is NOT allowed, although that has NEVER stopped me. Especially if you go down to the stream! I'm always naked, skinny dipping in that cold mountain water!
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Definitely not Handicap accessible. Its the Appalachin Trail.
  • Warnings:Altho I have never seen cops here, that doesnt mean that dont ride by. Use common sense like you would anywhere else! Be Advised, this is the Appalachin Trail, and it is full of hikers during the spring, summer, and fall. Just be aware that there will be "Vanilla" people out there too. You can usually tell who is there to hike, and who is there to hook up. Just make sure when you get naked, or start some lewd swxual act, that you are out of view from the trail, and to any hikers that may be passing by!

  • Hotsauna, go when people are off work, off church, off social/fam visitations, etc. Most guys I meet are bi, so they have to go when they can escape the wifie by going to the store or the gas station or pick up a six pac. Also, kill two birds with one stone by taking the time to call mom while you are there until you see that perfectman you are waiting for

  • That sounds like great advice Tonto...Does anyone go there on weekends...or is it visited only on weekdays? I'm sure there are alot of other types there on the weekend...but it seems like there is a whole lot of space around there. Though I apparently haven't actually made it to weavertons side of the road yet : )
