The Cheston House is a clothing-optional resort for gay men. It's well maintained and clean. The staff is terrific. Pool is wonderful. Lots of sun and shade. All ages and types of guy stay there -- couples and singles.

Neighbourhood: Ft Lauderdale Beach

Cheston House is just 2 blocks from the ocean in Ft Lauderdale Beach. It's near the new Westin. Just a few blocks south is Sebastian Beach -- the part of the beach where Friends of Dorothy tend to hang out.
  • Hours:This is a guest house. A resort. The office is open daytime hours for check-in and check-out. The pool, deck, and garden area are open 24/7. The grounds are locked and secured -- guests (and their guests) only.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Just hang out around the pool to meet guys and make friends. Sebastian Beach -- just a few blocks south -- is a good place to meet guys too. There are many gay guest houses in the neighborhood as well -- many are clothing optional and all have secured grounds.
  • Nudity / Policy:Clothing is optional on the first floor and all around the pool, gardens, and patio area. You must cover up when on the second floor balcony as you can be seen from the street. Many guys swim, sunbathe, and walk around nude. in public is not permitted (although sometimes late at night there is some action in and around the pool). Guys can, of course, hook up in their rooms. Keep in mind that this place is not a bathhouse or club -- it is a guest house.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / More or less accessible. Entrance and pool area have no barriers. First foor rooms have 1 or 2 steps to get up. Bathrooms are standard.
  • Warnings:None, really. Quiet neighborhood with rare late night party noise. Lots of new high-rises going up but still a nice area.

  • Was there last week. Staff is super friendly. Great clientel, also very friendly. Wouldn't rate it high as a cruising spot, but great as a gay friendly place.
