Sebastian Street Beach is THE gay and lesbian beach in Fort Lauderdale. Lauderdale is very gay friendly - welcoming, even - across the board but Sebastian is where the Friends of Dorothy do congregate in great numbers.
Neighbourhood: Ft Lauderdale Beach
Take Atlantic Blvd (AKA Ft Lauderdale Beach Blvd, AKA Route A1A) to Sebastian Street. Parking is tricky. There is a lot at Alhambra and Birch -- just a couple of blocks away -- that is safe, secure, and convenient -- attended at all times -- you pay $10 but it's worth it.
-
- Hours:Sun, sun, sun -- go in the daytime in good weather. New Years Eve is fun, too - fireworks can be seen being set off from barges offshore.
- Cruising Info/ Tips:Be friendly, chat, make eye contact. Flirt in the water. There isn't any overt on the beach per se, but you can surely meet guys, some who might be staying in the area.
- Nudity / Policy:No nudity or public . This is a "gay" beach but it lives along a stretch of mixed gay and straight areas and close to commercial districts. Meet and then hook up elsewhere.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / More or less accessible but it is a soft sand beach.
- Warnings:None really. Just be aware that you are in public.
