Large woodland area on the outskirts of Ellesmere Port, nestled between two housing estates, and the Shotwick-Helsby bypass.

Free car parking from Dawn to dusk, accessed of the A5117. (Car park is locked at night). Main Footpaths around the perimeter of the woods, and a couple of footpaths through the woods. Plenty of areas away from footpaths for some fun.

Neighbourhood: Whitby

Car park is accessed from the A5117. Coming from M53 J10, follow signs for North Wales/Queensferry. Car park will be on your right, just before the Strawberry roundabout (There is a Murco petrol station on this roundabaout!!).

When car park is closed, there are alternative footpah entrances on Dunkirk Lane, Woodbank road, Thirlmere Avenue. On street parking nearby. Or park on Strawberry Drive, and walk round to car park entance.

  • Hours:Early morning, Early afternoon. Best after dark.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:If going after dark, best pre-arrange to meet near an entrance point, and then head off in to the woods. May need a flashlight on moonless nights. Be aware, lots of ponds in the woods.

    During day time, cruise near the car park.
  • Nudity / Policy:Nudity possible, certainly after dark. Be discrete in daytime, as there are many exposed areas
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / No, rough terrain.
  • Warnings:Popular with dog walkers. Careful of scallies, though they don't tend to enter the woods, unless they fancy some fun themselves.

    Lots of ponds, watery areas, be careful where you step at night. Use flashlight if need be, but don't draw attention to yourself.
