Called Burnidge Park, it's actually a very large Forest Preserve with two (2) entrances, one off Coombs Rd and the other off Big Timber Rd.
Neighbourhood: West Elgin
From Randall road, go west on Big Timber Rd to Coombs Rd, go south on Coombs Rd about 1/8th of a mile...Entrance is on the east side of Coombs Rd.
-
- Hours:Typical forest preserve hours-sunrise to sunset. Best times are early in the AM, mid-day around lunch (11:30 to about 2pm) or when all the are on their way home (4 to about 6 pm).
- Cruising Info/ Tips:Parking lot in the middle of the preserve (1st lot on your right). Just park and wait OR go for a stroll down one of the paths into the woods.
- Nudity / Policy:Haven't seen total nudity but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
- Wheelchair Accessible:No / Parking lot is, but not the paths - they are rough. Typical forest preserve unpaved with gravel walkways.
- Warnings:Only real pet peeve is that during the warmer days, a few families go there with their kids. Haven't seen any form of police presence, but again, that doesn't mean it isn't there. I've been there a number of times at various times of the day, and haven't seen any 'security'.
