Actually it is wetland and a polder. Area is covered with willow trees of which branches are sometimes cut just after winter. By April/May it is dense again and good to walk around in except after rainy periods. (Soil is river clay and can be slippery and muddy).

If you travel from Rotterdam to Breda, you will see Dordrecht on your way. If you can find the sign for Papendrecht,
then you are going in the right direction. But be careful not to cross
the bridge to Papendrecht. It's a bit tricky but if you can manage this
far, then all you have to do is ask someone for some help. In this part of
the country almost everyone knows the Merwelanden.
