Chittenden Reservoir
Chittenden Reservoir is a small lake, part of which is popular with nudists. Along the hike from the dam you will pass a couple of small coves where clothed visitors congregate, then you'll reach a rocky point - sometimes called Congdon's Point - that marks the traditional nudist area, although nudists may scatter on to more remote parts of the lake. Although nude sunbathing is customary here, Chittenden Reservoir is not widely known except to locals. You may only find a handful of gay and straights visitors on the warmest days. The shallow shoreline makes this one of Vermont's best swimming areas.

From Rutland head northeast on US-4 to Mendon, then turn left onto Meadow Lake Rd. and head north 5 miles to Chittenden. Once there bear right onto Dam Road, proceed a couple mile to the parking area at the dams spillway. Walk the rail which starts on right side of parking area for 15 minutes to nude area on rock outcrop.
