North Lake State Park, Catskill Mountain House Site

From Catskill, take Route 23 West up the mountain into Haines Falls, take first right in Haines Falls on county route 18, also known as North Lake Road. Take North Lake Road all the way to the end, dead ends at park entrance. Through the gate 100 yards, make the first right onto South Lake Road, follow signs. Take this road to the end, there are two parking lots, use the Catskill Mountain House Site parking lot which is at the very end on the right. The path to the east leads to the Mountain House site with five state views and very private trails.
To the west is South Lake.

• Hours:All day during summer, swimming weather and afternoons in the spring and fall.
  Best times: Best time is late afternoon in the summer and on weekdays which slows the tourist traffic down.

• Cruising Info/ Tips:Make eye contact and stick around a bit. Pull up a rock on the side of the lake and have a seat.
  Cruisiest Spots: The path that connects North Lake with South Lake on the east side of the Lakes. A path connects the south beach with the north beach making for perfect cruising. Also the grassy area of the Catskill Mountain House Site. Many paths off that spot once you meet your mate.
