This grassy 'beach' in North Glenmore Park is located near where the Elbow River forms the west end of the Glenmore Reservoir. This is Calgary's unofficial nude beach. The crowd here is virtually all male, and mostly gay. There may be anywhere from a handful up to 25 nudists on peak days. Glenmore Reservoir Patrol boats come by occasionally, so best to cover up when you see them.

From junction of Hwy 8 & 37th St. SW, head south on latter for 1.5 kms. to the parking lot on 66th Ave. SW, just before park entrance.Walk west on bike path to Weaselhead footbridge over Elbow river, just before bridge take path to the left, crawl through fence, stay on overgrown path east along the river, wade across a small creek and continue through two small open areas before reaching third which is the nude area.
  • Crowd:Mostly male, nearly all gay.
  • Hours:Warm summer days.
  • Nudity / Policy:Yes / Traditionally clothing optional.

    cruiser adds: Unofficial nude beach is a great area to let it all hang out ... Be carefull when you're a smoker ... Dispose your cigarette buts into a pop-can and take all your litter, specially your used , with you.. PLEASE, LETS KEEP IT CLEAN.!!

  • This has always been a great area but lots of families. Summer has the city workers around and the neighbourhood also keeps an eye on things. Because of the activity, the park is now a oneway entering from 37st. On warmer days cops on horseback are common so don't get to "Forward" and always cleanup, especially here. Meeting in cars and leaving is the safest thing

  • Been there on hot weekends but there seems to be only a handfull of nudists there (<5) i remember going there and there was guys around every bush !!! Would like to see more of that, so come on down guys!!

  • I've been there once, and we'll there was no one nude, just a pot smoker keeping to himself - minding his own business, a birdwacher - gawker, and a couple that just went there to rest. Anyways, the bugs rule there when it gets hot after a long rainy period. If one had a good friend who would go nude with you when the conditions were right, it would make for a good time. Ya gotta go with pants on to avoid the scraping, and cutting of your legs and arms. Cover the rest so you don't get hurt.

  • Have met hot guy at "nude beach" and we were not the only ones having a good time and, just like lyears before, it gets busier during stampede time. Hope all the guys visiting the "nude beach" will keep the area clean.
