684 North: 1 mile past Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Rd.) on right. 684 South: Get off at Exit 8. Turn right at light. Go across bridge and turn left onto 684 North. One mile on right side.
Cross street: Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Rd. Overpass)

  • Directions:684 North: 1 mile past Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Rd.) on right. 684 South: Get off at Exit 8. Turn right at light. Go across bridge and turn left onto 684 North. One mile on right side.
    Cross street: Exit 8 (Hardscrabble Rd. Overpass)
  • Hours:24 hrs.
    Best times: Evening-10pm-3am. Some daytime action, but more commuters/travellers then. After sundown things can heat up ;)
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Outside: Park at far end and walk toward restrooms. Check out who's in the cars. Some may be stroking and show you something, others may follow or just watch. Once at the building, get a drink, go in, or just walk back.
    Inside: there are peepholes in the first that look onto urinals and second . If someone is in first , stand in front of one of the farther urinals and show him what you've got or pee and shake it for him. In the s you can just peek to see who's stroking.
    When you find someone, they might want to go into the handicap . It's big and has a full wall, but if it gets busy in there, it might be awhile before either of you can get out without attracting attention.
    Cruisiest Spots: As with most rest stops, parking at the far end away from the building will attract more friends.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:The usual. Sometimes you run into creepy guys who smell like garlic or want to call you Daddy.
    Warnings: As always, exercise caution. Police rarely patrol, especially after 11pm. It seems like they look the other way on this site as long as cruisers are staying away from the Southbound area in the richer neighborhood (see Katonah), but use discretion.

  • Tuesday Oct 9 2007--was there midday. 2 State Trooper Vans blocked off the parking area for trucks and placed traffic cones round the whole lot.

    At night that part of the rest area has no lighting at all, gets the most action

    Hope this thing today was just some meaningless exercise, but you gotta wonder

  • so.. i was at this rest stop thursday night, 2/15... an 18-wheeler was parked in the car park area, taking up about 10 parking spaces. At 11:30 about 8 police cars FLEW into the rest stop, lights flashing.. one even drove in through the exit (the wrong way). they all congregated behind me, so i couldn't see what was going on, if they were arresting someone or what. it didn't seem like it, but i couldn't tell. i drove off while they were still there (as casually as possible), and after 30 seconds on the highway (684 N), saw all the cruisers speed past me, lights still flashing, turn around in the median connector, and fly back down the opposite way on 684 South. i don't know what the point of the whole operation was... or why there were so many of them. it didn't seem like they arrested anyone... any ideas?
