Pleasant, mostly clean. Low lighting at night allows outdoor fun while exercising caution.

Tuesday Oct 9 2007--was there midday. 2 State Trooper Vans blocked off the parking area for trucks and placed traffic cones round the whole lot.
At night that part of the rest area has no lighting at all, gets the most action
Hope this thing today was just some meaningless exercise, but you gotta wonder

so.. i was at this rest stop thursday night, 2/15... an 18-wheeler was parked in the car park area, taking up about 10 parking spaces. At 11:30 about 8 police cars FLEW into the rest stop, lights flashing.. one even drove in through the exit (the wrong way). they all congregated behind me, so i couldn't see what was going on, if they were arresting someone or what. it didn't seem like it, but i couldn't tell. i drove off while they were still there (as casually as possible), and after 30 seconds on the highway (684 N), saw all the cruisers speed past me, lights still flashing, turn around in the median connector, and fly back down the opposite way on 684 South. i don't know what the point of the whole operation was... or why there were so many of them. it didn't seem like they arrested anyone... any ideas?
