A nice cool place to go for cruising others for meeting up with to go elsewhere?..or stay in secluded area`s for casual outdoor manplay with other('s). Have been here several times over the years, different times/days, and have always had a good outdoor with others there.
Crowd: All types, Mixed ages, Gay, Bi.`(Cur?),Str8`s lkg-2-get head, lots of younger college guys, business types, city visitors, club goers, etc...seems very mixed here most times.

Stop anywhere between the Mass Ave. & Longfellow Bridges, along Storrow Drive River way. No area parking for vehicles. The best thing to do is to walk, jog, skate or bike over and then you can cruise this entire area.

  • Crowd:All types, Mixed ages, Gay, Bi.`(Cur?),Str8`s lkg-2-get head, lots of younger college guys, business types, city visitors, club goers, etc...seems very mixed here most times.
  • Hours:Best times are after dusk/dark p.m. thru middle of late night, early a.m.-dawning hours.
    Best times: This area seems busier/better on Fri.-Sat.-nights, Or any day in the good, warmer weather seasons when everyone's outside.
    Dates open: All year round/24/7/365
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:As always, Be Careful!..stay around more with/where the general cruising crowd of, stay away from main paved path/walk-ways as many str8`s/walkers/joggers/cyclers use these area's all the time.
    Cruisiest Spots: The more secluded trees/bushes area's near benches,between the foot bridges, and also at far end after hatch shell and boat house, near ball park/playing fields, and also up near trees by Storrow Drive area where closed MDC Pool is also good area, more secluded.

  • Wheelchair Accessible:No
  • Warnings:The ocassional area homeless, bench sleepers, drunks, and some druggies hangin'-out nearby as with any park, sometimes can be annoying at times?...other than that, A Good place to cruise for ocassional M4M/M2M / action!
    Warnings: Sometimes during the good warmer weather the MDC/Boston Parks Rangers stroll around the hatch shell area and boat house, and sometimes they as well as Boston/State Police may drive thru main large paved area's, and/or, even come thru on bikes to patrol the area`s at night, but not that often. If so, You can tell and see them coming. Just be Careful!!

  • You're saying you USED to go.....things change. I've discovered this place last year, went quite often, and have never sen a crowd of anyone, let alone any hotties. Met one cute guy earlier this year, but still not at all crowded.

  • The Esplanade is at it's absolute best in early June (before the concert season). Take it from a veteran Bostonian, guys... Those warm June evenings when Spring is at it's height are the best. I used to ride my bike from BU to the Hatch Shell on such nights ... and can tell you from experience that, that is when the hotties are out there.

  • went back in the middle of the week....had a great jo session with a wicked cutie. We were the only ones there, save for an old guy on a bench....not sure if he was cruising or just there, but it's not nearly as busy as the fens.
    But if there's a cute guy there, who needs more people?

  • i walk it saturday night. saw a guy on a bike that rode by a few times, but he wasn't my type at all. aside from that, no one.

  • Almost forgot about this place. Last summer I walked through one night late (after 11:00) and there were a few guys but not many. There's definitely potential. I was told by some buddies that the action picks up here when there is a mugging or beat down at the Victory Gardens that freaks everyone out. There are a lot of walkers, drunks, and homeless that wander through here at night. I've also seen Boston PD patroling the jogging path in their cruisers, and they are not opposed to getting out and seeing what's going on if someone looks suspicious.

  • I didn't even think this place was that cruisy in the summer. Last year I walked this place a few times on weekend nights, and only saw an old guy on one of the benches every once in a while, and one kinda skechy lookin dude on a bike. Then I'd walk back to the Fens.
