Well I hope to visit some night probably on a night that has a drag show and see how it is.

I've been to Partners quite a few times. I'm surprised that more gay people don't frequent this place just to keep it in full swing. I would say it's very much a mixed bar. About fifty percent guys and fifty percent girls. There is a small straight crowd that follows one of the guys that leads karaoke.
It's not a place to pick someone up as there really aren't that many people there, but it's a nice place to just sit and chill. There is a pool table, a dart board and at least one if not two video machines.
As far as the price of drinks. They have a regular special which is $8 for a small pitcher of a mixed drink. Usually a Long Island Ice Tea type of drink. The recipes and titles are on the walls, just look. But for 8 bucks it's not a bad deal I didn't think. As far as the price of beer I'm not sure.
The karaoke they have here is great, but just a little overkill. It's like 5 out the 6 nights it's open. Some great singers, but I honestly think I would go there more often if I knew I could just sit and listen to a juke box at a medium volume level and actually have a conversation with my friends where I'm not screaming over some karaoke song, but at least their singers are good and the two people that host it are both amazing singers so that's some form of entertainment I guess.

I did make it to the last drag show. It was fun for about twenty minutes. We did laugh and have a good time, but after a while it was boring because the drag queens all thought they would use the same Witney Houston joke by putting baby powder on their lips. The first time was funny, the second, third, fourth, fifth time was just sad. There was one drag queen that came out in a wheel chair. She received a lot of fundage, but then later when she came out and was dancing around she pissed off some people. I saw a table of eight guys, cute ones at that, leave because they had all felt sorry for her and had given her money. I guess they felt ripped off. My friend and I didn't like that she had sunk that low either but we stayed and had a great time following.
The owner Rick is a nice guy. He is quiet but friendly. I believe he has hired another bar tender which should make things easier for him. I haven't seen his one friend that does lights and sound from Chicago. I don't remember his name, but if he's there you'll have a blast. He is just very outgoing and makes sure everyone has a good time.
There is a younger crowd of college age I'd say. They tend to stay in their groups, but I have chatted with some of them so they are nice and fun. Went to one after hours party. Who knew that B.C. had after hours parties?
I find it odd that there aren't many guys in their 30-50. It's either the college groups, or the 55+ regulars.
Just an after thought. They do have snack foods if you are hungry. Pizza, chips, etc.
I'd like to see more events at Partners, a movie night, bingo night, low light night, something other than karaoke, karaoke, karaoke, karoake, karaoke, karaoke, karaoke..........
All in all a nice little bar.

I have been to PARTNERS a few times, seems to be friendly and the prices ARE in line with most other bars! The karaoke was a hoot - especially when they've had a few! I agree with Sexton, if more people would just support their one and only gay bar in BC, it could make a difference and relate into new people coming in from outlying areas. With the price of gas nowadays, why not stay local. I do have one small pet peeve - the video juke-box is kinda hookey. Would like to find a bar that plays all kinds of music, rock, jazz,c&w,altrn - come on loose up people. I realize I'm a bit older, but I still like to get out on occassion. Be friendly to everybody !

Is this place CD friendly? I have stopped in at Romantix a few times but it is usually slow so I was thinking maybe I could hit both places?

I thank Dutch 1959 and FunTimes78 is the same person
and it sounds like they just hate women and dont know how to have a good time with some good people. and drinks are not over price they are very much in line with any other gay bar maybe they are just being cheap. I alway have a gppd time they run alot specials for drinks have the best Karaoke system in the area and the last drag show was standing room only. A place you need to check out for yourself
