Lidsdale State Forest - Forest Ridge Drive

Description update 1/7/2009: This place is not marked as a rest area so can be known only to only a few.
There IS a section of old, two lane concrete highway adjacent to this area of plantation pine but it is closed at one end and has no place for large vehicles to turn. There is no sealed parking, toilet, lighting or food outlet and the trees are very close together,so it seems unlikely that semi-trailers will stop here.
There is little ground cover, so action in daylight presents a problem though the place has potential as a night-time rendezvous. There is rubbish left here (used nappies, beer bottles, coke+bourbon/rum mix cans, empty toy packaging and take away containers. (Editors note: C'mon guys, lets keep these places clean).

previous comment: This is an old rest area from the old highway between Bathurst and Lithgow. (so i am told) It has a lot of bush cover and the Pine Plantation. There also are some truckers occasionally with sleep in cabs.
