One of Baltimore's well-known neighborhood bars. Mixed crowd - ages and sexes. Friendly place. Modest drink prices. Pool tables, Video Poker/Slot machines.

Neighbourhood: Highlandtown

Closest Intersection, Conkling St., 1 block south of Eastern Ave. Buses along Eastern. Limited alley parking, but mostly metered street parking. Free after 6 pm. There is a metered parking lot across the street.NOTE: If you have a Handicap tag/plates, metered parking is free all over Baltimore except for certain Downtown/Business zones.
  • Hours:Regular Bar Hours: 11 am to 1 or 2 am
    Happy Hour sees a lot of bluecollar types. Beware of the Rent Bois outside, especially afer dark. Avoid the underage types hang around, just off the premises.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Walk in like you belong there. Doorman to check ID's if you look too trashy or underage - evenings/weekends.
    Cruisiest Spots: cruiser adds 2/4/2008: they added a small enclosed smoking area outside in the back.
  • Nudity / Policy:No nudity, but TX's, CD's, anytime - the usual late-night Drag Queen contingent may show up on weekends.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:No / Sidewalk level door, but no especial Handicap amenities. Wheelchair accessible, but no special restroom features.
  • Warnings:Older crowd, but friendly and not troll-ish in the least. Younger guys from the neighborhood mix well.

  • this is a fun low key neighborhood bar. Like all bars it is hit or miss. Yes a lot of the customers are older but not all of them. The place has cheap drinks, and a friendly atmosphere. So stop in and give it a chance.

  • So this place is a total waste of time? I walk by it all the time on my way to royal farms at night after the bar. It'd be pretty convenient if there was some action to be had.

  • This place is a total wrinkle bar. There is no one in there under the age of 80. If you have the taste of Anna Nicole Smith and like the golden oldies, here you go. The bar itself is a nice, clean spot and the drinks are reasonably priced. It's a nice spot if you are just out to have a drink and not to pick up no hotties.

  • bar sucks ... full of druggie street whores...... guys are rip offs the whores..... bartenders are ok but not great......some older guys are there they are nice... it all depends what you are looking for.... rest home atomsphere .... you got it....

  • as always when you go there be careful not to leave any valuables in your car or in plain sight this is Baltimore city you know have seen some car windows smashed as a result of the rent boys not being let in or turned down from some of the patrons be on your toes and keep a eye out for strange things.

  • I love this joint! It's the new location of the former Centaur, on Boston Street. They had to move, and for legal reasons, changed the name. Pretty much the same crowd from the old place, but with new neighbors added in.

    You'll find some of everything here, mostly all blue collar guys shooting pool (2 tables) and playing video slot games. Weekend nights, there's a doorman carding twinks and keeping out the Rent Bois, and letting in the Drag Queens, Lesbians, and such. They used to have Karaoke at least once a month, but that's not happened for a while (as of Nov. '07) Hope they bring it back - SOON!

    If you are into the Older Crowd, this is the spot for you! All you need to do is show up, and have an honest look on your face. These guys can spot a phony in a New York minute!

    Oh, yeah - drink prices are quite reasonable, with the usual Happy Hour specials....Check the menu boards for current events. A great Christmas Buffet is one you don't want to miss!
