The area has no facilities, but several
trucks park there. Guys cruise the
trails in the wooded area.

About five miles north of city, off I-35. If you live In Ames or Further South follow these directions. Take I-35 North, go past Ames. Keep taking I-35 until you see the Roland/McCallsburg exit. Take this exit and go left and then take the I-35 South on ramp. Follow I-35 South and abt 2 or 3 miles down the road you will see a sign that says Prairie Area 1 Mile, take the Prairie Area exit. The road curves all the way around. Coming from the North. Go past Story City and Roland McCallsburg exits. Soon you will see the sign for the Prairie Area. Park your car and Walk the trails or Just sit in your car and watch the guys.
