Best NM gay bar, no other one like it. They do have great shows from time to time, gay rodeo and other bear events. Saturday nights are the best, but Friday nights are getting better. Be prepared to pay a $2 cover on weekend nights --this sucks-- but still worth going to visit.
Crowd: Mixed crowd: older men, bears, young college guys, bigger men, lots of tourists.

Off of I-40, travel south for about 3 miles until you reach Central Ave, turn left and go about 1/4 mile. Bar is on right side of road. Park where you can, in front, back, other business parking spots.
Cross street: Wyoming and Central

    Best times: fridays and saturday nights
    Dates open: Every night from 3pm to 1am.
  • Cruising Info/ Tips:Make sure the guy is single before you try to make an attempt.
    Cruisiest Spots: All around, especially at side bar called Cuffs.
  • Wheelchair Accessible:Yes
  • Warnings:Drags and lesbians are ok, but appear from time to time when their other bar closes.
    Warnings: Be prepared to pay a cover on weekend nights.

  • so is sidewinders the place in alq for a drag queen to go or is someplace else more accepting visiting drag queen needs some nights out dressed please help with info...

  • This bar has been replaced with Sidewinders. It became Sidewinders in August 2005. It is no longer the Ranch. There is never a cover now that it is Sidewinders! :-) It's been getting better and better since Mikey, the new owner, took over. Way fun on Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon beer blasts. :-)
